I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and primarily work with adults providing individual therapy and group therapy. I have over 17 years of experience working in the capacity as a therapist with people that have a wide range of symptoms and experiences, including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief, and loss. I believe that there is no experience or pain that is too small, or too great, for therapy. If you are feeling like there is something that is keeping you from healing, or living a full life, I am available to walk with you to achieve your therapeutic goals!
I have been working with individuals and families in the Bay Area since 2002. I completed my Master's in Social work in 2006 from San Jose State University. I have experience working within multiple systems including: school based settings, the Child Welfare system, the criminal justice system, and hospital settings. I have had my private practice since 2011. Due to my extensive exposure and expertise working within multiple systems and also a private practice setting, I am well versed in any challenges or crisis that may arise. Please find comfort in that there is nothing that will shock me, or that is too heavy of a burden for me. I draw from my training in different therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness; but ultimately we will work together to create an approach that works for you. (If you aren't familiar with these different types of approaches, don't worry--I can explain them to you and we will determine which is the best way to help you heal!) I have extensive experience and training working with planning, pregnant and postpartum mamas who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or loss. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), and offer a unique skill set to those mamas who are struggling. You have made an incredibly brave decision to seek support in addressing whatever pain or trauma that you have experienced or are currently experiencing.
